Mid Argyll Pipe Band is based in the heart of the ancient kingdom of Dalriada (modern day Mid Argyll).
We are one of the oldest civilian pipe bands in Scotland with a history stretching back to the early 1900's.
Our tartan is Ancient Sutherland (old).
The band re-commenced competing in Grade 4b in 2011 and continue competing to this day.
The Novice Juvenile band was formed in 2011 but disbanded in 2014. The NJ band Pipe Major was John Hunt. All members were co-opted into the "Senior" band.
Mid Argyll Pipe Band perform at local events and competitions, but we are also available for private engagements.
We have a philosophy of producing our own home grown talent. The largest percentage of current performers have been taught from scratch by our tutors.
Pipers and chanter players come up through Rod Buchanan's classes held in Kilmartin, whilst drumming students start to learn at our Tuesday evening practices.
If you want to join - whether as an established player or a beginner - please come along to one of our practices.
Alternatively contact us via email or Facebook.
Practices are held at 7pm every Thursday in Ardrishaig Community Hall. Pipers only evenings are on Sundays at 7pm in the same location.
Drumming practice and tuition takes place at 7pm on Tuesdays in Ardrishaig Church Hall.
